Ian Pilarczyk

Owner

Ian entered mobile pet grooming after a career in higher education. Trained as a lawyer (with a J.D., a master’s and a doctorate in law), until 2019 he started and ran graduate law programs at Tufts University and Boston University. A lifelong dog owner, he turned his entrepreneurial skills to servicing the pet grooming needs of his hometown of Arlington and surrounding suburbs. He relishes the opportunity to have Bark & Mane of Arlington to support the needs of pet owners in our area, and to give back to his community.

Some people hire mobile groomers simply for the convenience—because they come to you. But for the rest of us, a service like this is a lifeline to provide care for a complicated pet, whether the pet is elderly or reactive, or just gets stressed in overwhelming environments like noisy grooming salons. This is a remarkably well-run, locally-owned business staffed with patient, flexible, and caring groomers. I would give Ian and his staff 10 stars if that were possible. This business is a pet owner’s dream and it became a critical component in supporting my Shih Tzu in his elder years.

Easy scheduling and super convenient. Brian did an excellent job with our pup, giving him a proper Welsh Terrier cut. Our dog does NOT like having his hair cut, but Brian won him over. We'll definitely use them again!
